like a rock

Today will mark day five of life as a SAHM. I couldn't have imagined it being any sweeter! My time with Brady during the day has been wonderful, exhausting, playful, and not a dull moment is in sight for he and I. He thoroughly enjoys our morning walks with Grandmom and I. I love getting outside and getting that heart rate going. We usually have color time, puzzle time, reading time and lots of eating time. No regular nap time for him, which is unfortunate for me. But it never fails. He always falls fast asleep in the car on our way to pick up Luke, Maddie and Micah from school. And boy does he sleep hard. Like a rock.

Don't even think about waking him up while in this state. It can't be done. Experts have tried and tried. By experts I mean his three older sibings screaming in his ear "Brady wake up!".

Look at that precious face? You would never think for a minute he screams at the top of his lungs when he doesn't get his way. Or hits Micah on the back constantly. Or sneaks into his sister's room and puts on her flavored chapstick. Not this sleeping babe.

Or that he freaks out in the checkout line at Wal-Mart every time because of the toy cars he so desperately needs.

How happy I am to be able to share this time with him. To nurture him. To comfort and lead him. To teach him. Except of course, when he is sleeping like a rock. How happy I am for those times as well!

party like it's 1999

AAHHHhhhh. I am relaxing. Right next to one of my best boys, Micah. He is out like a light in our bed. I think he is actually snoring a bit. Cute. The rest of our brew are watching a movie in the living room with Daddy.

We went out to eat tonight to celebrate. Celebrate what, you ask. Why, today was my last day of work at an 8-5 desk job! And....it was the completion of a week of work for my husband at his new job. It's the end of an era for me, and the beginning of an era for my husband. So as you can see, we had a lot to celebrate!

We got caught in a horrible rain storm on our way home. It was the worst rain storm I have ever driven in.  And believe you me, I went to college in Seattle so I know rain storms. We couldn't even see the road lines because of how hard the rain was coming down. My husband was driving thankfully. He was raised in Indiana and that supposedly means he was born to drive in any weather conditions. He is a pro. Because he is from Indiana mind you. I know what you are thinking. I had my doubts at first as well. But after driving at his side for close to three years now, he has proven himself over and over again. We have driven in wind, rain, snow, extreme humidity, rocky hills, and sloping..well slopes. He is the best all-terrain driver I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. And marrying,

I am off to join my husband in partying like it's 1999! See you later.

inspirational

What inspires you? What lifts your spirit and allows you to soar?

My unique and fascinating children inspire me. Yes, they sometimes inspire me to want to jump off a mountain top screaming and kicking the whole way down....whoah, was that out loud?

Anyway.

For the most part, they inspire me to write. To better myself as a mother, a wife, a God fearing woman, and daughter. They have taught me so much over the past nine years. About life, love, priorities, humility, pure and simple joy. From the moment I found out I was pregnant with Luke, I have been a changed woman. For the better. I have struggled along the way. At times, reached the lowest of lows. But those times have molded me into who I am at this very moment. I am forever asking for forgiveness, but who among us isn't? And if you aren't, then you need to fall on your knees and start. But I am also forever knowing that there is a path for me. It has already been paved for me. I look to Him for direction and steadfastness(is that even a word? I am too lazy to look it up.) And like clockwork, He guides me. You...your good You! It inspires me to know that I have HIM guiding me. I for sure couldn't make it on my own. No way, no how. And thanks to God, I don't have to!

I am inspired to take the necessary steps to better myself. Whatever that looks like. Sacrifice. Doing without. Cutting back. I want to be the best mother for my children. I want to be the best wife for my husband. I want to be the best child of God I can be. Somehow, he always knows our needs. Doesn't he? It amazes me, how life can just fall into place. It doesn't always happen on our time, but when it does happen, it is like a huge AH HAH moment!

I want to be a Stay at Home Mom. I am inspired to make that happen.

What inspires you? What advice/tips/words of wisdom can you give to an aspiring SAHM?

I'm all ears!!!
