"Not Me" Monday

Mckmama- Not Me Monday

This past week while staying in Gulf Shores, Alabama with our family, I most certainly did not let our children walk on oil stained sand and even put their feet in the oil stricken water. I would never allow such behavior nor would I myself walk on the same sand to get a few measely photographs.

Shoreline filled with tar balls.

Tiny tar ball.

Large tar ball.

From one extreme...

to another.

People even topping off their sand castles with tar balls.

Oil stained sand.

Oil stained feet.

Our hearts forever stained by this tragedy.

Err, wait. Maybe I did! It's Monday, who knows! (Thank you to my cousin, Meghan, for providing some of these photographs!)

So would you like to join in and write a Not Me post yourself? Head over to MckMama's blog to read the rules and see what other people are Not Me-ing about!

Not Me! Monday

I tell you what, I am a perfect mother. Always on the ball, thinking on the fly, and getting the job done. I never drop said ball. My brain never feels like mush and for the life of me I can't remember a thing. Therefore, my four lovely children are always prim and proper. They are always studious and calm. We are a very proper family. Always. 24/7.

For instance, I most certainly did not allow our three year old to play on our waterslide in his underwear...

...and then proceed to allow him to take his underwear off and slide naked...

...and then proceeed to take pictures of naked three year old sliding. That is just too loose and something you would never catch me doing!

Well, whadya say! Can we catch you doing something like this? Won't you join in the fun!

Head over to Mckmama and see what everyone else has been up to!

Not Me! Monday

Howdy ho neighbors! How is everyone today? Good I hope. I spent the morning at the Chamber of Commerce assembling registration packets for the Arts and Crafts festival this weekend. This is my second year to be involved with registration and this year I am chairperson. Heavy isn't it?! How did a gal like me get so much RESPONSIBILITY?! Blessed I guess!

Anywho.

This past week I was on my best behavior. I showered everyday(cough, cough), and didn't go commando once to pick the kids up from school(cough, cough)!

And Sunday afternoon, I most definately did not nestle into our lazy boy chair while my husband worked through folding about five baskets of laundry. I would never sit by and watch him slave away and secretly hope he doesn't ask me to help. How insensitive would that be?

Now it's your turn people. Come on and join the fun. It's therapeutic.

Not Me! Monday

Yes, it's that time again! The time of the week to share a few moments in my life I am not all too proud of. I know, I know. It's hard to be believe I have any of those moments right? Right.

For instance I would never let my almost three year old wear his Batman costume, cape and mask and all, out to dinner with the family. I am way too worried about what people may think or say and think it is a distraction for other people trying to enjoy a nice meal out.

I have not gone days without shaving my legs. I'm really not worried about it because it is still pants season around here anyway. Sorry babe!

What about you? Do you have any less than perfect moments you would like to get off your chest? Yeah, I thought so!

Not me! Monday

I would never allow our two year old to go barefoot in a public restroom. And while in that said public restroom, never let him touch everything he could get his sticky little two year old hands on. I am way too germ conscience and my child always minds me when I say "Please do not touch anything while Mommy goes to the bathroom."

While recently on a trip I did not let this same two year old wear a pull-up in the swimming pool because I totally forgot Swimmers for him to wear. And when the pull-up got full to the point of explosion my husband did not take it off and allow our son to just wear his bathing suit.

What about all of you out there? Have any shortcomings or embarrassing moments you would like to share with the rest of us? Huh? Do ya?

Not Me! Monday

This past week I did nothing as a mother I would rather not mention on my blog. Nope. I had no shortcomings or moments of complete frustration. I was an angel of a mother. Really I was. I deserve a halo in fact. Yup. Halo worthy am I.

For example. The few times I gave our two year old a bath I most definately washed his hair along with washing his body. I didn't just not wash his hair because he pitches an absolute fit every single time I attempt to rinse his hair full of shampoo. (I usually turn him over to Daddy at that point if he is home because Brady only lets him rinse his hair. What's up with that?)

What about you? Are you halo worthy?

Our family got some wonderful news today. My husband has accepted a job offer with a local college! He is so very deserving of this position! Please continue to pray for our family for it does bring some changes about. We couldn't be happier though!

We are continuing our plans for me to be able to quit work and stay home with our four children. We are making some huge decisions for our family over the next couple months. Very exciting stuff! I will keep you all posted. Keep the team in your prayers that we follow God's will and remain forever on His path for our family!

Not Me! Monday

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.

But first, see what I was was up to last week.

So, I can't stand wrapping presents. Never have enjoyed it much to be honest with you. I know some of you are gasping for air and holding your hearts as you read this cursing my name saying "how could you NOT enjoy wrapping presents?" But it's the truth. Maybe it's because I never was able to master the art of wrapping. I am horrible at it. I never cut the paper straight. Always cut way too much or way too little. Always wrap the gift upside down so the front of the present has the stupid seam showing. And twirling ribbon? Forget about it! This Christmas was no different. Still strongly dislike wrapping presents. And perhaps I was wrapping a rather large present for my husband and, once again, didn't cut enough paper. Perhaps I tried stretching the paper so it would cover the gift with all my might. Perhaps I covered the part of the gift showing with five or six bows to mask the ugliest wrapping job known to man. Perhaps I did all of that. Perhaps.

And perhaps just this evening I told my two year old that if he took his cough medicine I would give him a chocolate kiss. But, I would never bribe my child just to speed the whole take your medicine before I cram it down your throat process. Totally worked though. He jumped right up and skipped his way to the kitchen and opened wide. You little......

No, I did not give him an entire cupcake! The picture just went with the story.

What about you? Have any moments this past week you'd like to share with the rest of us?

Not Me! Monday

Did you almost pass out from embarrassment when your two year old pulled your shirt down and exposed your chest? What about when your child pitched a fit in Publix because you wouldn't buy him a pack of gum? Well don't be embarrassed or ashamed. All mothers have had moments and sometimes entire days we would rather forget. Feel free to us this blog carnival as therapy and share your shortcomings as a mother.

Shall we?

I did not let our two year old eat four things of yogurt in one day. We always have a well balanced meal consisting of all four food groups. I did not feed him cereal for dinner tonight either. Ahem

I did not tell our five year old to wipe his runny nose on his shirt sleeve when we were grocery shopping. That is just yucky and would never tell my child to do something so appalling.

Ready to share or read what other moms have to say?

Not Me! Monday!

Have you ever wanted to change your name from Mom to anything else in the world for just a mere five minutes to gain some peace and quite? Have you ever gone two days without showering or putting a bra on? Have you ever gone months without mopping your kitchen floor simply because you are too lazy? ME NEITHER!

Now that I got that off my chest!

It's time for Not Me! Monday! For those of you not familiar, Not Me! Monday was designed by MckMama, for mothers everywhere to admit to some shortcomings and moments we would rather forget.

Let's begin, shall we.

I did not ask my nine year old while grocery shopping if sausage was beef or pork. I did not have a total mind breakdown and completely go blank on sausage and where it derives from.

I have not been telling my children for months now when they ask me for something to put it on their Christmas list.

To avoid a scene, I did not let my whiny two year old take off his socks and shoes while grocery shopping. I know better than to give in to my children. I always stand firm and stick to my word.

Not Me! Monday!

I would never give my two year old a bath to simply keep him contained for ten minutes and take a brake from listening to the constant whining. I realize baths are for hygenic purposes only. Not for getting some sanity back in my home.

Yes, this would be said two year old. So calm. So angelic. So still.

If you are looking to let loose and admit to some of your own short comings as a mother, head on over to Mckmama's blog and join the rest of us.

'Not Me!' Monday

I would never not go two days without showering. That is gross and I never have slob or slouch tendencies.

I did not buy my two year old a toy car when grocery shopping just to keep him from screaming at the top of his mighty lungs. I would never bribe my child just to bide some time.

I know this woman who was just too stinking lazy the other night and fed her children cereal for dinner. That is not somehting I would ever do, especially when husband is working late.

If you want to join in and celebrate in your short comings as a mother then follow the directions below!! Would love to have you chime in!

"Not Me"! Monday

If you are not familiar with "Not Me"! Monday posts, it is a chance for mothers everywhere to bask in the fact that we are not always on our A game, and sometimes sharing shortcomings and imperfections is liberating! Read on to find out a few of yours truly.

I did not sneeze twice last week and slightly pee my pants! I would never be so gross nor would I blog about for my family and friends to read How inappropriate that would be! I do not have four children to thank for that fact either!! AHEM!!

I did not disappear into the bathroom for a few minutes just to get a little peace and quiet from the above mentioned four children.

Not Me! Monday

For those of my readers not familiar with MckMama, she is the reason for the following post. She so graciously has created an outlet for all of us mothers who want to spread the word about imperfections and short comings. So you too, can come to the realization that you are not the only one!

As for me, well, read for yourself.

I most definately did not run out of pull-ups for my five year old and put a diaper on him two nights in a row. This has never happened before nor did it happen last week. I always keep a stock pile of pull-ups.

I was not chasing after my two year old with camera in hand while he was playing outside yesterday, attemping to capture some creative photos of him. I am never irritating and overbearing with any of my children. Just ask them!
